BREAD & JAM PUDDING

INGREDIENTS to serve 4 people :-

thick/medium/thin sliced bread

margarine or butter

jam

METHOD :-

Spread the bread evenly with the margarine or butter.

Then spread with the jam to make 4 sandwiches.

Cut each sandwich diagonally in half and then in half again.

Grease a 1 litre / 2 pt oblong baking dish.

Layer the triangles of sandwich over the base of the dish.

Mix the eggs, milk, and sugar together, then pour over the sandwiches.

Place the dish on the middle shelf of the oven.

Bake at Gas Mark 4 / 350F / 180C (160C for fan oven) for 30 - 40 minutes until it is well risen, golden brown, and just firm.
