GYPSY TOAST

INGREDIENTS to serve 1 person :-

your favourite bread

butter or margarine

Filling :

Cheddar cheese

Coating :

1

egg

breadcrumbs

1

tablespoon

vegetable oil

 

METHOD :-

Evenly spread the bread with the butter or margarine.

Cut the cheese into slices and lay to cover one slice of the bread.

Place the other slice of bread on top of the cheese to form a sandwich.

Beat the egg and dip the sandwich in the egg to coat both sides of the bread.

Then dip in the breadcrumbs to thoroughly cover both sides of the sandwich.

Shallow fry the sandwich in hot vegetable oil until golden brown on both sides.

Serve with a crisp mixed salad.
